Not Be Just a Good Growth
Strategy But An Essential One!
Designed for the busy
CEO, the Riverside County
College of Foreign Trade
presented an introduction to
the basics of foreign trade
and internet global marketing
strategies all in two days. What
used to be presented in eight
half - day sessions is now
presented in two sessions. A
class of over 60 executives heard
presentations covering topics
such as, writing an international
business plan, market entry
strategies, legal aspects of
foreign trade, finance and
methods of payment and logistics
and shipping, de mystifying
e-commerce and m-commerce,
international marketing using the
internet, online global marketing
successes, realistic expectations
of time frame for success with
international web marketing.
Riverside County EDA/Office
of Foreign Trade, along with
its partners, the Small Business
Administration, the Department
of Commerce and the City of
Riverside helped organize and
advertise the series. “We want
to help our Riverside County
companies, that want to develop
a global marketing strategy for
their products, be as informed
as possible about the process,
the benefits and the availability
of all the international trade
help agencies” said Tom
Freeman, Riverside County
Commissioner of Foreign Trade.
Nationally, only 15% of U.S.
manufacturers export. That means
85%
of U.S. manufacturers could
develop a global market strategy
to increase market share. The U.S.
market is only 5% of the world
population and foreign countries
are continually finding a share of
the U.S. 5%. In effect this global
competition is shrinking the U.S.
domestic market for U.S. products.
