2016 International Trade and Agricultural Summit added
“Match Making” to its program this year as 180 companies
gathered and over 135 match making appointments were kept.
Riverside County’s Office of Foreign
Trade hosted the 3rd Annual
Southern California International
Trade and Agriculture Summit (Ag
Summit) at the Palm Springs Hilton.
This annual event brought together
international business leaders, ag
experts, entrepreneurs and local
growers to increase Riverside
County agricultural exports.
Besides bringing together the
agriculture help agencies, like
Western United States Agriculture
Trade Association (WUSATA), The
Department of Commerce, the USDA,
California Centers for International
Trade (CITD), the Small Business
Administration, the Farm Bureau, the
LA Ports, the University of California
Department of Agriculture and
Natural Resources, EX-IM Bank,
California Women for Agriculture,
and others, a concerted effort
was made this year to expand
the participation of international
marketing organizations to create
an “international match making”
opportunity for growers, and other
companies in the food business.
Besides a large delegation from
the Philippines that included the
Agriculture secretary, we had the
New Zealand Trade Center, the

Korean Organization for Trade,
the Consul General from Egypt,
the Honk Kong Trade Association
and others. Over 180 companies
attended and over 135 match
making appointments were made.
The Office of Foreign Trade hosts
the annual event to facilitate this
type of deal making designed
to create new markets for
Riverside County companies.
